Making textual heritage accessible with scholarly quality is an essential task of editions. In current, digitally determined work contexts, there are many possibilities for this, among which the encoding guidelines of the TEI (Text Encoding Initiative) have developed into a viable, sustainable community standard in recent decades. The workshop teaches the syntax and schema of TEI/XML using practical examples and provides an outlook on possible applications as well as low-threshold and connectable editing and publication tools. No previous knowledge is required. Participants are invited to bring their own examples.
Participants must bring their own laptop to the workshop (the participation with a tablet or smartphone is not possible).
The event is organized by the WKT research focus »Digitale Hermeneutik« and supported by the Junior Professorship for Digital Humanities.
