¡Bienvenida a Alemania!
The Junior Professorship for Digital Humanities is pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Gimena del Rio Riande from the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET, Argentina) as part of this year's Mare Balticum Fellowship Program at the University of Rostock.
Prof. del Rio Riande, a faculty member at the Universities of Buenos Aires (UBA) and Salvador (USAL), is considered a key figure in Digital Humanities in Argentina. Invited by Prof. Dr. Ulrike Henny-Krahmer, she will be conducting research and teaching in Rostock in September, specifically on the topic of digital editions. Her stay as a Mare Balticum Fellow will also strengthen the German-Argentine collaboration between the two universities, particularly by enabling young researchers from both countries to experiment with digital methods. During her time in Rostock, Prof. del Rio Riande will host a series of events for early-career scholars on topics such as „Open and Minimal Strategies for TEI Encoding and Publishing“ and „Semantic Annotation and Publishing Tools Applied to Literary and Historical Texts“ anbieten.
Note: Originally planned for 2025, Prof. Dr. del Rio Riande's stay at the University of Rostock had to be postponed to September 2026.
