Mare Balticum Fellow 2025

Dr. Gimena del Rio Riande

¡Bienvenida a Alemania!

The Junior Professorship for Digital Humanities is pleased to welcome Dr. Gimena del Rio Riande from the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET, Argentina) as part of this year's Mare Balticum Fellowship Program at the University of Rostock.

Dr. del Rio Riande, a faculty member at the Universities of Buenos Aires (UBA) and Salvador (USAL), is considered a key figure in Digital Humanities in Argentina, both nationally and internationally. Invited by Junior Prof. Dr. Ulrike Henny-Krahmer, she will be conducting research and teaching in Rostock in June, specifically on the topic of digital editions. Her stay as a Mare Balticum Fellow will also strengthen the German-Argentine collaboration between the two universities, particularly by enabling young researchers from both countries to experiment with digital methods. During her time in Rostock, Dr. del Rio Riande will host a series of events for early-career scholars on topics such as "Digital Humanities" and "Digital Scholarly Editions". As part of this, she will also serve as a guest speaker in the lecture series "Digital Humanities in Focus" on June 16, 2025.

Note: Originally scheduled for February and March, Dr. del Rio Riande's visit has been rescheduled to June.
