Abstract:
Uwe Johnsons Roman Das dritte Buch über Achim liegt im Rahmen der historisch-kritischen Uwe Johnson-Werkausgabe, die als Akademienvorhaben der Berlin-Brandenburgischen Akademie der Wissenschaften an der Universität Rostock entsteht, seit 2019 gedruckt und seit 2024 digital vor (http://www.uwe-johnson-werkausgabe.de/schreibtisch/dbadetails).
Ausgehend von den im Uwe Johnson-Archiv überlieferten materiellen Grundlagen, stellt der Vortrag die beiden Darbietungsformen der Ausgabe vor: Er erläutert editorische Vorgehensweisen und Entscheidungen, präsentiert Nutzungsmöglichkeiten für verschiedene Interessens- und Zielgruppen und zeigt auf, wo sich die gedruckte und die digitale Ausgabe unterscheiden und wie sie sich ergänzen.
Short bios:
Cordula Greinert studied European Studies (Cultural and Social Sciences) at the University of Osnabrück, the Universiteit van Amsterdam, the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and the University of Birmingham. Following her studies, she contributed to several editorial projects in the fields of literary and historical scholarship. These included "Kritische Gesamtausgabe der Essays und Publizistik von Heinrich Mann" and "Wissenschaftliche Ausgabe der Briefe von Therese Huber" (both at the University of Osnabrück), "Die UdSSR und die beiden deutschen Staaten. 1949–1955. Quellen aus deutschen und russischen Archiven" (Leibniz Centre for Contemporary History Potsdam), and "Frank Wedekinds Korrespondenz digital" (Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz). During this time, she also worked as a research associate at the Walter A. Berendsohn Research Center for German Exile Literature at the University of Hamburg, where she oversaw the P. Walter Jacob Archive. Since 2022, she has been supporting the Uwe Johnson Research Center at the University of Rostock as a research associate, contributing to the Academy project "Uwe Johnson-Werkausgabe (The Complete Works of Uwe Johnson)".
Fabian Kaßner studied History, German Studies, and Editorial Studies at the Technical University of Braunschweig and the Free University of Berlin. His main interest lies in the intersection of literature and modern technologies, which is particularly evident in the development of digital editions. During his time at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, he expanded his expertise and joined the the Academy project "Uwe Johnson-Werkausgabe (The Complete Works of Uwe Johnson)" at the University of Rostock in 2014. He is currently working on a doctoral project that examines the paradigm shift in editorial studies.
