On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., the University of Regensburg will welcome Jun.-Prof. Dr. Ulrike Henny-Krahmer, Marc Lemke, and Nils Kellner—project leader and collaborators of the DFG-funded research project Computational Approaches to Narrative Space in 19th and 20th Century Novels (CANSpiN)—as part of its virtual lecture series Trends der Digital Humanities.
In their talk titled Von der Exploration zur Literaturgeschichte, the speakers will offer insights into the research design of CANSpiN and present first-hand findings from a study on novel openings, showcasing their current work on digitally mapping narrative space in 19th- and 20th-century novels. Their research report is aimed equally at academic peers and anyone interested in learning more about computational methods in literary studies.
