The Herzog August Bibliothek (HAB) and the Diamond Open Access Service Centre (SeDOA), funded as a DFG project, invite participants to the workshop “Ideen, Praxis, Wirkung: Digitale Editionen als Publikationen im Diamond Open Access” from 3 to 4 December 2026. The event will take place in person at the Meißnerhaus of the HAB in Wolfenbüttel. The workshop will focus on how digital editions and the principles of Diamond Open Access can be more closely connected. To this end, it will address the key areas of reputation, review and reception, licensing/legal issues, as well as long-term availability, archiving and hybridity.
The Digital Humanities at the University of Rostock are also involved in the event: on 3 December, Ulrike Henny-Krahmer will give the lecture “Rezensieren in der Zeitschrift RIDE: digitale Editionen als wissenschaftliche Forschungsergebnisse wahrnehmen, einordnen und sichtbar machen” as part of the session “Reputation, Review & Rezeption”.
Henny-Krahmer is Co-Managing Editor of RIDE. The open-access review journal is dedicated to the evaluation of scholarly digital editions and other digital resources, thereby providing a forum for their scholarly and methodological discussion. The evaluation and sustainability of digital research outputs are also among the research areas of the Professorship for Digital Humanities at the University of Rostock.
Participation in the workshop is free of charge. Registration for both days of the event is possible until 15 November 2026. The detailed programme and registration form are available via the event platform Eveeno.
