Hanna Bott

Student Assistant at the Junior Professorship for Digital Humanities

Profile

Since October 2023, I have been supporting the Junior Professorship for Digital Humanities of Dr. Ulrike Henny-Krahmer as a student assistant in the research projects "Pessoa digital" and "Diccionario del Español Medieval electrónico (DEMel)". My tasks there mainly include material-specific research as well as the preparation of text data according to the standard of the Text Encoding Initiative (TEI). Furthermore, I am responsible for the enrichment of persondata by the use of authority data.

My research interests are primarily in the field of literary studies, especially narrative theory and Uwe Johnson as a writer. Therefore, my current work in the context of digital research methods is an appropriate complement and extension of my professional interests.

CV

After completing my bachelor's degree in German Studies (major) and French Language, Literature and Culture (minor) at the University of Rostock in 2022, I am now continuing my studies in a single-subject master program in German Studies with a self-chosen focus on literary studies. Parallel to this, I have already been working at the Institute of German Studies at the Uwe Johnson Professorship under the direction of Dr. Holger Helbig since 2020. There, my field of activity covers a wide range of tasks, from literature research and digitization to editing, proofreading, as well as editorial assistance on texts and teaching support.

Aside from my professional activities, I have been in charge of the Uwe Johnson School Award of the Uwe Johnson Association since 2020, on whose extended managing board I have volunteered as an assessor since June 2023.
