NTEE-Workshop

The workshop provides an introduction to working with the NTEE (NEISS TEI Entity Enricher) software, which was developed at the University of Rostock between 2019 and 2022 as part of the EU project "Neural Extraction of Information, Structures and Symmetries in Images". It offers the possibility of retraining BERT architecture language models to recognize user-defined textual phenomena on their own data. The resulting taggers can then be used to annotate texts and evaluate and correct them in post-processing. All of this is done within a graphical user interface: NTEE is specifically designed to make the possibilities of deep learning with BERT language models accessible to users who do not have the necessary practical knowledge.

The aim of the workshop is to provide a basic understanding of deep learning as far as it is necessary for using the tool and to demonstrate the functionality of the tool on the user interface using concrete examples.
